Tips to improve your resumes for engineering jobs

Resume should not be longer than 1 to 2 pages
Limit what you add in the resume - this is not an essay contest
Highlight your Honors/awards list
Focus on your professional service (not hobbies, interests, ...)
Highlight your professional service/job related achievements:
For example, our developed software has been used by ... to solve ... resulting in ...
Highlight your ability to work with others within and outside your team
Highlight your efficiency with tools/languages - SQL, C# only mention the languages that you can fluently write code in
Use strong verbs: e.g., resulted in improvements, yielded performance improvements, optimized .... etc.
Mention your online profiles: github, linkedin, etc.
Be very specific/accurate - if you join a company, usually they will do background checks on you based on your resume.
Limit the list of your publications to your most significant ones
Refrain from adding personal information (e.g., birthday)
